Claim

A claim is a formal request made to your insurer to pay for a loss, damage, or liability covered under your policy. Making a claim initiates the insurer's assessment process — the insurer reviews the evidence, checks it against your policy terms, and determines whether and how much to pay.

How to make a claim

Notify your insurer as soon as possible after the loss — most policies set a notice period in their conditions. Gather evidence: photographs, receipts, police reports, or medical records as relevant. State clearly what happened, when, and what you are claiming for. Keep copies of everything you submit.
